Christmas Panorama

Finally getting in the holiday spirit, following a holiday revue and much good cheer by many. Thank goodness there are so many decent people in this world.

Happy Holidays!

K. Fitch- Artwork

One of my best friends is also an artist, and just opened an art shop on etsy. Her work has a very cheerful, youthful energy. This is a wood frame she hand painted for photos:

Congratulations to her!

HWY 50- Fallon to Eureka- views along the way

HWY 50- Fallon to Eureka- Loneliest Hwy In the US

A bit of proof that is a lonely road, the photos are different places along the three hour drive. Although, to be fair, I did see maybe 8 other vehicles. Something like that.

a bit sad

Boy, the week has been a bit heart-wrenching.  It's a bit hard to swallow so much madness, no matter what time of year.

black swan

What a mournful looking creature...

Well, the week has gone fairly well so far. I feel quite good, despite having stayed up late and being a tad tired.

Holidays...

I spent some time this weekend getting in the holiday spirit. It turns out those holiday movies on the Lifetime and Hallmark channels are secretly some of the most cynical, depressing films I've ever seen. I officially do not understand why people judge my love of disaster movies. It was quite a relief to watch the last Rambo and the new Camel Spiders.

In other life hilarity, Elko must be one of the few places in the country that ran out of single strand colored Christmas lights! My bro bought a light net-thing instead, it is hilarious.  A very bordeaux holiday from Elko, Nevada!

Cape of Good Hope

The terrain in the area is really remote and dramatic. The white looks like rocks but are actually patches of white flowers.

Africa

Well, I return inspired, relaxed and ready for life again. It is a very good thing to get a vacation.

I'm a tad jet lagged so it will take a few days for the stories.

Hope you all had a lovely holiday.

A photo from my new favorite place on earth- Franschhoek, South Africa.

Gone Fishing!!

Gone Fishing!!

I 'vill be back November 26th.

I had all these great aspirations- I would be ahead in the blog- visitors would never know I was gone... Or even collect and post a few of my favorites from the year... but life got in the way. Heck, I didn't have time to paint a "gone fishing" sign. I just need to finish my work for my "normal job" as a miner, pack up and zoom.

I want to wish you all a simply fabulous Thanksgiving! Even if you don't celebrate it and do not eat turkey. Because spending time with family and giving thanks for what we have in life are generally good things to do.

Please do not become disheartened in my absence. I will be rekindled and fresh when I'm back. Plus, I have like a 4'X5' canvas waiting for me to compose upon my return.

Safe journey and love to all.

winter spirit

I have several "spirit" paintings going right now. I really enjoy playing with them.
