Zen Friday

Bumble Bee

Bumble Bees are the neatest insects, and I do not say neat" about insects very much... I reserve that for giant crocodiles and imaginary dragons.

A few more Dahlias

The Green, oh the Green

Ah the green of a forested landscape. Of course the weather around here has been amazing this week, so that's the trade off. I mean, I saw 16 lightning strikes yesterday from my office.  And there have been mountain rainbows the last two days, right at sunset.  But the green!

A quiet moment

To remind us all of peace, for a moment. I've certainly had a few grey days. Not bad, not good, just grey. Just flat like cement. It is good to talk it out, find the source, put a name to it.

And then find peace again, for a moment.

The Gallery, at Night

I am definitely interested in the supernatural. Sometimes I avoid it like the plague, just out of a primal nervousness. Every so often it comes out in my artwork. Some feeling of... something else present.

Just Sketchin'

I have had a just sketchin' post in awhile! This are little good luck Douglas Fir trees.

The Irish have clover, I have Douglas fir trees.

Change

Living life is like looking through a frame at the view you chose. It's all based on what you chose to build and create, and what you chose to walk (or run) away from.  I wonder if that's part of the lifting of enlightment. Finding out who you are is important, but what if you decide to change the view? And does your own view matter that much?  Once you find it, it's just one of many that you could have picked.

Change is scary, but it is the constant.

Photos to help us make it through the week

The Dahlia fields of Canby never fail to bring new, beautiful images. I could take thousands of shots and still want more.

Oregon Dawn

This is the dawn of my childhood, in Oregon. No wonder dawn is my favorite time of day.

Amazing that we all rush through life, and forget the quiet moments that prepare us for the day ahead.

Zen Monday

Sometimes a person needs a little extra zen for the work week.

I woke up at 1:30 am, and have been pretending I can go back to sleep since then. I must be working something through, but I can't think of what. I'm too tired!

Although, I just got back from the 'homeland' of Oregon. I really miss my family... friends.. real trees (which I define as Douglas Firs).

So here is a little extra zen. Take it or leave it! Wait, that sounds pretty grouchy. What I mean is... watch the pretty waterfall.

Fire Outside of Boise, pt 2

These clouds are really and truly extraordinary. Wild and scary and real.

Fire Outside of Boise pt 1

I was able to catch a couple shots of the smoke from the fire outside of Boise- heading east on I-84 between Boise and Mountain Home. It's up to 90,000 acres as of today.

Very different from the clouds in the mountains, somehow for me the fierceness is just as compelling.

Mountain Wildflowers

Have a wonderful weekend, y'all!

Happy Wildlife

I know these are not artistic, but it's funny to watch the antelope and deer) chomp on the alfalfa, apparently joyful at human activities in the Great Basin.

Sorry the pictures are so small!

Mountain Clouds

I love watching the clouds in the mountains... so close I can practically touch them; coming together and breaking apart.... always growing.

the Way Down

Most of my friends are in a position to take a step down if they want change, rather than a step up.  A function of the times we are living in...

an Epiphany

there is a hole inside of you
that I cannot fill
and though
you scream yourself out with words
useless words
it is I who stands alone
always alone
unafraid of the reflection
aging before me
