I love it when interesting shapes become visible in clouds. The other day I saw an enormous eye. It was too dark to get a photo.

I got up super early this morning to snap a couple pictures of dawn. I have a lot of great photos, some I think are stunning.  It was an amazing morning for a drive too.

long hard work versus quick sketching

I just had to chuckle this evening. I realized I worked for weeks on the painting I posted yesterday- but it gets about as much play as work I do quickly. Here I'm trying to be contemplative, but my work is absorbed as quickly as it takes a person to glance or flip through. I think I will post more images of 'the tree from the parking lot'... when I get a chance to take more photos. Ha... maybe get one image that is correctly lit too...

This is a large tapestry (~6'X4') I made for my living room. It is kind of hard to photograph, which is why I am putting two photos up.

 



 

It's meant to be a neutral piece, but it seems anything but. 

I've been thinking about the magical in the ordinary. In this case, the beauty of the tree in the parking lot.

A journey

Life is such an amazing journey. Not an unusual or even interesting thing to say. But everything feels a bit chaotic around me, and I'm learning to not absorb the mad energy into myself. Since I'm a bit wound up, if you had never met before you would not be able to tell. I am much calmer than I used to be though. I think learning how to cope with the 'slings and arrows of outrageous fortune' is a big part of finding wisdom.

This creek has sheets of ice over sections of it. It looked so clear and cold, really beautiful.

Winter begins... Definitely past fall

Basically a purple color, right? No snow falling, not yellow... lovely nonetheless.

The dog made it to the top... the people didn't!



I was heading back down a trail from my hike, and met up with this dog. He was very friendly and happy. A bit later I saw him with his people heading out, much further down the trail.  I wonder if the family realized the dog finished the trail ... even though they didn't! LOL

Went for a lovely drive today. One of those days where you just see amazing views around every corner. It was a good day.
