Tree of Hawai'i

Simple little painting of a tree, testing it for a bigger piece. But I like how it turned out. 

Figured I'd wait awhile to publish any further art inspired by Hawai'i.

 

Underwater piece

Been playing around with this painting that is meant to be fun and tropical. It's not quite done but I'm not sure what it needs!

Pacific Ocean in Winter

This piece is meant to be the ocean in winter, looking down when clamming or just goofing off on a warm winter day. I think it's one of my best pieces.

Ocean, PNW

An attempt to show ocean... feels almost like stone even, but is pretty enough to try again and leave this piece alone.

Swantown Marina, South Sound PNW Painting 2

This is my very first oil painting. I used the acrylic as a way to try out techniques for painting the painting, which it turns out that acrylic is so different from oil that I'm not sure if it was helpful or not. It was especially interesting to note the difference in colors that came out, probably largely because of the way I looked at the painting, and getting used to the different media. 

Dark Ocean Waves PNW

 I've been trying to get the flavor of the ocean. The paintings are not as successful as I would hope, but, this one at least starts to get the feeling of it-if a bit dark. 

A Bit Of Summer

 I took another run at the Dahlia painting from last summer. Here is the finished piece.

I love the additional depth.
