Roaring Springs Ranch, the west side of the Steens Mountains area in Oregon (no Steens Mountains in the picture)

Amazing, with the lava capped tops of the hills.   The ranch is really busy, there is always somebody out and about during the summer.

The canyons look like this. I always wonder what is up there? But I'm fairly sure it's just more rock, a few antelope.

This is actually a five photo panorama.  It's on the south side of the valley.

  1. Not many antelope any more. The joke is when God was thru creating the earth, this is where he dumped the left over rocks. There is some beauty to it though, if you look closely, there are little lavender flowers amongst the cheat grass. Also, there is nothing that smells so good as when a rain comes in and washes the sage brush. Shoulda stuck around to see the sunset.
